Charlie Fitzgerald, owner of the local IGA and hardware as well as being Hague's Postmaster, drove his race boat Havin' Fitz for many years in the annual races in Hague as well as at other venues. He bought the boat -- originally called SoSonic -- when Jack decided to buy a new boat for himself, which he named Gingerly. Gingerly returned

The pits were in the Hague Town Park as well as along the shoreline in front of today's Trout House Resort. The starting line was between those two sets of pits. Boats got a running start, heading south the Scotch Bonnet Island and then north to Baldwin dock before returning to the starting line. This was a 15 mile lap, and boats completed six of these laps.
